Breakfast and networking at EAIE 2023

9 Oct 2023 00:00 | Communication

Colleagues from across the U!REKA network gathered in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, at the end of September for the 33rd Annual EAIE Conference and Exhibition.

The European Association for International Education conference is hosted in a different European city each year. This annual event focuses on the internationalisation of higher education in Europe, and beyond. The 2023 edition was the biggest EAIE conference to date, attracting over 6700 participants from 100 countries.

It is also an ideal opportunity for U!REKA partners to meet, since many of our colleagues attend the even each year. Employees across the U!REKA network working in research and teaching roles, international offices, communications, student affairs, policy roles and more took the opportunity to attend the conference.

U!REKA networking

It has become an annual tradition for our network to meet for an early breakfast meeting ahead of the official conference opening. Around 30 people attended an informal breakfast on the morning of 27 September, starting the day off together with some delicious croissants, conversation and coffee.

Our Dutch and Belgian partners Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences and HOGENT had stands at the EAIE Exhibition hall and welcomed visitors to stop by for a chat and to learn more about our institutions.

EAIE 2023 was once again an ideal opportunity for international offices across the U!REKA network to meet partners from abroad and to join interesting workshops and sessions to boost their sector expertise.

We are already looking ahead to EAIE 2024 in Toulouse, France!

EAIE Barometer Survey

Everyone who attended EAIE 2023 in Rotterdam or who is involved in internationalisation in the higher education sector is invited to fill out the EAIE Barometer Survey. Your input can indicate what’s working well in the sector and where there is room for improvement.

The survey is open here, until 3 November.

The 8am meeting time did not discourage eager U!REKA colleagues who gathered for networking ahead of the EAIE opening event.
