Research Data Management in the U!REKA network

7 Sep 2022 00:00 | Communication

The reproducibility of research results is one of the most important foundations of science. Without solid data management policies, documentation and data administration, the reproducibility of research data is at risk.

Research disciplines use different tools, but they all have one thing in common: Research must be documented according to the scientific method. Good data is data that is findable, accessible, interoperable and reusable (FAIR). Effective research data management also supports collaboration, re-use of existing data, and increased visibility of good research.

The research data managers of the U!REKA universities were invited by Frankfurt UAS to establish a new expert group focusing on the topics of data management and open science in 2021. In past meetings, the expert group discussed institutional policies for research data management; engaging researchers in research data management; and the EU/Horizon 2020 ‘Pilot on Open Research Data’; and networking in the field of RDM.

The group will continue meeting in the future. For more information you can contact: forschung@fit.fra-uas.de
